Averlon Comes Out of Stealth with $10M in Funding to Advance AI-Powered Cloud Security

Today is an exciting day! I’m thrilled to share with you the next step in Averlon’s journey as we have secured $8M funding led by Voyager Capital with participation from Salesforce Ventures and Outpost Ventures, along with several prominent CISOs and industry leaders. This latest investment brings our total funding to $10.5 million.

As cyber intrusion insurance premiums double year over year and AI-driven cyber attacks cost U.S. companies an average of $9.48 million per breach, the need for robust cloud security has never been more critical. Today Averlon is emerging from stealth mode to transform how organizations stay ahead of these emerging threats. We already have some incredible momentum with our early customers.

A Journey Born from Necessity

When Vishal and I first co-founded Averlon in 2022, we set out to build a company that truly empowered CISOs and security teams to better understand cloud security attacks and predict them. In short, we wanted to deliver a new paradigm in cloud security that cut through the clutter. With literally hundreds of products, the security landscape today is overrun with solutions that bombard security and engineering teams with countless alerts that don’t get addressed on time, if ever. Worse, the endless cycle of alerts leads to a reactive security posture where teams are playing catch-up or unsure where to focus.

At Salesforce, the world’s largest enterprise SaaS cloud, we directly encountered this issue. Despite having a sizable team dedicated to cloud security, we struggled to manage the deluge of findings we faced daily. Among the millions of vulnerabilities in the cloud, only a small subset pave the way for real world attacks. The challenge lies in being able to pinpoint this critical subset. We knew we needed a novel approach to address this dilemma.

Why Averlon?

Attackers are becoming more sophisticated, and to stay ahead, security teams must think like them. This is precisely the goal we aim to achieve with Averlon. Averlon’s mission is to provide customers with a holistic way to understand, predict, and prevent cloud security attacks.

Staying ahead of cloud security threats and predicting the next attack is nearly impossible with legacy tools. Don’t believe me? On average, enterprises receive over 15,000 alerts monthly, making it incredibly difficult to prioritize and mitigate risks effectively.

In contrast, Averlon’s AI-powered platform pinpoints specific cloud security issues that pave the way for real-world attacks. Customers can seamlessly onboard their cloud environment, and within minutes, get a clear picture of their security risks and where to direct their attention.

Averlon’s Foundation is Built on Three Pillars:

1. Panoptic Visibility: Provides CISOs and security teams deep visibility into their cloud environment.
2. Predictive Attack Intelligence: Averlon’s AI model proactively predicts the actions of attackers and identifies end to end attack chains.
3. Rapid Remediation: Helps security and engineer teams to identify and eliminate end-to-end attack chains by deploying surgical fixes.

Cloud Security Threats Continue to Increase with AI

Nearly eight in ten (78%) security professionals estimate their organization’s data was breached or compromised in the past 12 months, according to Forrester Research. As more enterprises introduce SaaS and AI-based applications, the risk only gets worse. At the same time, AI can offer asymmetric benefits to the Security teams when used right.  

Customers can leverage Averlon’s Attack Chain Analysis to narrow the scope of the investigation and simplify the process of determining the impact, so security teams can move quicker to contain and recover from incidents.

We are thrilled about the growth we’ve generated to date, but this is just the beginning. Averlon will use the proceeds from our initial seed round to accelerate adoption of our platform, sales, marketing and continued product development.
